Water stop between Wantage Road and Challow - booked 40 minutes for a couple of miles.

Oh yes of course - thanks! It wasn't immediately obvious but I think the issue is that they don't stop where they used to. They used to stop at the site of Challow station but now I think they stop at the signal before?

As far as I know water stops are never planned on the basis that a diesel will be shoving all the way.

We'll gamble and book it with the hope we have the usual wet spells in August to let it be a proper steam day out. Whatever happens on the day we know a superb place to eat in Worcester.

Understand today's trip to Cardiff with FS has four coaches of dining. That is a lot of meals to produce, and also shows there are still plenty of people who have money for leisure activities.

It certainly wasn't hanging about this morning! Seen at Twyford and Cholsey where it was nearing it's maximum speed:

Course there are, many people in their late 50s are loaded. Paid off mortgages, private final salary pensions.

That’s called ‘SKIing’ Ralph my parents do it now and again, it’s nice when I’m invited to come along and help them do it.

Yes I do know the term SKIing but thought I had better spell it out for the less informed of our readers. ;)

The first time I have seen this notice on RTT (although it may well have appeared before). Odd, because I would imagine those with the nous to use RTT and pick out the train hauled by 60103 (given that it isn't stated as such) would already be well aware of the warning. If anything, the addition if the note may have alerted a few who would otherwise not have known for sure this was the train in question.

Scotsman was going rather well through Kilburn just now, load 12 and a 47 at the rear which seemed to have been turned off (for now at least!)

Flying Scotsman has just passed Rugeley Trent Valley and is coasting towards Colwich Junction with the Cheshireman . IMG_4973.jpg

Nice shot. Really annoyed with myself as I forgot this was running today.
