To coincide with this weekends diesel gala, we have launched a covered accommodation appeal to keep our diesels under cover.

With all the locos being near or around 60 years old they desperately need to kept from the outside elements.

Please help us guarantee the future of these locos.

    Link here for donations.

Will try and remember to give something come pay day.

What is the plan for keeping them covered? 30k looks quite cheap (relatively speaking) so will this be a simple cover over the sidings rather than a full blown shed?

For the time being it’ll be a basic roof over the locos with a few feet down on the sides.
We’re not talking full depot facilities nor do we expect it.
But if the rain is bouncing off someone else’s roof it’s not hitting ours and doing any damage.

All the locos are suffering from this.

it’s something all railways should be thinking about doing.
    Steam, diesel, coaches, wagons etc.
they’re not getting g any newer and everything is starting to suffer.

Sounds sensible. Out of all the schemes I hear railways getting up to, I've always felt that getting rolling stock under cover should be the number 1 priority.

No point getting more locomotives and carriages if they just rot outside.

Yes I am an active volunteer
but if all you can afford is to keep the permanent way operating then sheds slip down the list of priorities

This is self financed by all the owners of the diesels on the line.
