I've still never seen a full list of where everything rail wise from the previous batch of proposed de-accessions actually went and I would have thought that would have been a requirement of the de-accession process.

I am aware of something non-rail related held by the Science Museum Group apparently finally being de-accessioned by them after 25-30 years of trying to extract it from there, so an independent proposal to them sometimes works as well if you are a Registered Museum and they hold something not on public display that fits with your collecting policy.

I believe the Oyster brake remained at Embsay, as for the rest, not entirely sure. More often than not, however, stock that is based at a Railway is usually earmarked to go to that very same railway, but has to go through this public process regardless.

Latest traction ads was released whilst I was away:
Bodmin disposing of an RMB, Siphon G and Six-Wheel milk tanker (the latter seemingly already having a large amount of interest.)
RSS also advertising a mix of stock (including 2 Class 08s) and miscellaneous spare parts for sale.
*Edit to add - A group at Barrow Hill also selling Manning Wardle No.1795
    http://www.tractionads.co.uk/TRACTION_-_ROLLING_No_136.pdf

On Carriage Exchange meanwhile, the 33/1 Pres. Group have listed a BR CCT for sale (DB 977154 / NPCCS 94266)

Class 14 D9525 is also for sale at Peak Rail through Heritage Shunters Trust.

Sort of curious as to why PR have never really used D9525?
Surely be ideal on the back of steam trains and cheaper on fuel than a Class 44?

My apologies if I'm in the wrong place!

A building project I am involved with requires an old Railway Carriage (or other suitable waggon) to convert into accommodation at a property that is actually an old railway station. The station has existing platforms and the station buildings have been elegantly and sympathetically converted into living space. This isn't a holiday accommodation project. The original idea was a MK1 or MK2 Carriage which are quite easy to locate but sadly are too long to fit in the space available. Does anyone have a) any suggestions as to what we might be able to use, a couple of mahogany LNER or similar, a couple of old cattle waggons maybe and b) some suggestion as to where we might find suitable examples. We are expecting to fully restore them to be in keeping with the environment so condition is not critical.

    many thanks for your help

    John

Are the vehicles required for living or storage accommodation? A Mk1 is 64' long and most LNER teaks are only a couple of feet shorter so also unlikely to fit your location. Shorter vehicles that you might wish to consider are 4wh. B.R. CCT's or Southern designed CCT/PMV's. A couple of advertisers are mentioned up-thread.

Coming on here and suggesting you do anything to LNER Teaks other than restore to original condition will get you Lynched my friend.
. Until the recent pandemic some EX BR Suburbans might have been considered surplus... how much space have you got
Anyway Sure someone on here will point you in the right direction as there must be a few GUV's PMV's CCT 'S etc out there ( the Siphon listed above on carriage exchange ? )

I'm advised the CCT listed above has provisionally sold. Bodmin did have two CCTs they were considering for disposal a while back; I remember seeing one listed on Facebook Marketplace briefly last year but don't know if it actually sold. They are/were both very poor condition but if you're expecting to have to do work, it might be work asking there?

In the Traction Ads currently, Appleby Heritage Centre have two vans for disposal which may suit the requirement? Cattle Vans (and especially LNER ones at that) don't seem to come up all too often. One consideration may be to source a box van and 'modify' it into one, the way Mid Hants have done theirs.

Just like to make it clear that the LNER reference was very tongue in cheek and not a serious suggestion. I am a member of the NYMR and have great love for them and agree with you regarding the lynching.

Have you considered providing a home for a coach body without the running gear? Not sure if the Wells and Walsingham are still trying to sell any of theirs. There is also an ebay advert for https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324846393115?hash=item4ba25a971b:g:0cYAAOSwUwRhdGKJ which is described as 32ft and might fit.
