Hull Trains is putting forward its bid on Monday to operate more train services to London. It currently runs six daily trains to the capital but wants to extend services to every two hours.

The firm faces competition from other operators including, Grand Central Railways and GNER, who also want to run more trains on the East Coast Mainline.

The Rail Regulation Board will now look at the bids. An announcement is expected later this week.
