Various unforeseen complications have kept the go/no-go decision hanging in the balance until the last moment. Consequentially Timetables for the second half of the year including the service were still at the printers. There has also been a lot of work behind the scenes dealing with these complications and late changes. Hopefully all the information will start to flow shortly.

It looks like the red they painted Met No 1.

No surprise there then I suppose.

  15. Given the unit's owner (and the fact that the images clearly show it not having had any decals applied yet), perhaps an outbreak of common sense might point towards the shade being classic Underground red?

When it's your vehicle, you are fully entitled to paint it whatever colour you like. It's perfectly understandable that LUL would want to paint the 4TC an appropriate colour to represent its owner. To me it seems obvious that the combination of the unit's ownership and the 'heritage' aesthetic that the Swanage Railway wants to present makes Underground red the perfect protective paint pigment.

Just seen on Corfe Castle station webcam - a West Coast railways class 37, class 33, one mk2 and three mk1 coaches arriving from Wareham.

Think you will find that most if not all stock on the big railway is leased yet it carries the leases livery, not the owners.

Are the West Coast carriages being used instead of the 4TC for the entire season or until the 4TC is ready?

Charter stock, such as West Coast carriages and London Underground's 4TC, tend to have the livery that the owner chooses.
