Outing For Riviera 47s

    Don't know the reason, but two of Riviera's own liveried Class 47s have had a (rare) outing today. Better than just running them on the depot every so often.

    Locos used were 839 and 843. Pic, with smoke, here:

    The two Riviera 47s are part of that collection of locos. The others include 853 (the XP64 liveried one), a green one, one in EWS maroon which has only recently come across from the LNW shed, and Resolve, which had been stabled at Rugby for a while. There's another in Riviera colours as well.

    AFAIK the Riviera locos are barred from Class 1 workings due to poor reliability and what the future holds for them I don't know. WCRC appear to be taking more 57s which suggests they are not interested in them. So snap them while you can!
