Not sure about the colour, but as I recall in industrial service she carried a very large (wooden?) 'Yates, Duxbury' nameplate on each tankside.

I have seen these, but it gives no indecation of the colour, Although M&GN is choco brown, it is very close, The colour it was before we got it was a more yellowy colour of that.
This loco has been green, then painted to look like thomas, then to that golden and now black.
    Thanks all for the response.

Annie was unlined green at Yates Duxbury. When she first came to the Lavender Line she was black as now with a BR style smokebox plate 945. Below is a pic of AB1931 on the Rutland Railway finished in its original makers colours with new script appropriate to Rutland (she worked for the British Sugar Corporation).

The archives of Andrew Barclay are now held by Glasgow University. I have just obtained from them a copy of the works photo for my loco AB 1719. It might be worth checking to see if they have a works photo for AB 945. Although it wouldn't show the colours it would show the detail. Try emailing enquiries@archives.gla.ac.uk in the first instance.
