2253 seems to spend most of its time out of use at Paignton due to being unreliable, I think they cant wait to get rid of it

I think the owner has to be there for them to use it. They don't really need it, have 3 of their own engines out on loan.

I’d be surprised if Peter Best had to be there for it to be used. It certainly wasn’t the case when it was at the NYMR on either of its periods there.

Only stating what I am sure has been posted on here before. 2253 is rarely used at the P&D.

I Agree that 2253 is rarely used on the T&DSR; it was your ‘condition for use’ that I was disputing.

Yes I got that. I was trying to find the post on the PDSR thread. I am sure it is a condition of use. When they used 2253 in June, if you look at the video on YT, PB is clearly on the footplate at the time stamp I've linked! Only running days the engine has had this season.

Let's hope the tyres have more tread on them the for the locos last visit in 2006.......

There was a comment in the last members advertising comic that there would be up to 10 magnificent locomotives at the event, this obviously is the first one I wonder the other nine will be....

Says timetable mid August, September tomorrow and no sign of it yet

    'Timetable & Locomotive Allocations
There will be a special timetable for this event. The timetable will be published mid-August, however, we are only planning to run between our own heritage line stations, from Pickering to Grosmont, calling at Levisham, Newtondale Halt (by request) and Goathland for most of the event. Thursday, is the only date of the event we will be running to Whitby Station, if you wish to travel to or from Whitby on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you will need a separate ticket for Northern services, available at Whitby Station (closed on a Sunday) or from Platform 1 self-service kiosk, at Grosmont Station.'

The NYMR made a Facebook post over the weekend "one month to go..." - there was a comment asking when Mid-August was for the timetable to be released and the reply was "keep an eye on the website/social media to see it first". So hopefully won't be too much longer!
