Should be good. Has 73050 withdrawn from the gala or is it a error on the website? Notice that 76079 is one of the NYMR regulars (winking smilie)

Less than a week away from the NYMR Autumn Gala. Unfortunately, there will be only 1 guest loco, but as it is 70013 Oliver Cromwell, I am sure we can live with that!

    Features are:

    - 1st Britannia on the NYMR and Esk Valley lines
    - Return of a Schools to the mainline - 1st passenger trains since the class was withdrawn from BR service.
    - Double-headers (53809/75029, 75029/70013, 75029/76079. Super D/Q6)
    - Goods trains (Grosmont to Goathland on Friday, Pickering to Levisham Saturday and Sunday) - Super D, Q6, 53809 and 6619 all appearing at some point on the Goods.
    - As well as 70013, fellow End of Steam survivor 45212 will be in use - 1st reunion since 1968!
    - 6 locos in steam Friday, 8 Saturday and 9 Sunday - 11 different locos over the weekend
    - Through trains to Whitby Saturday, 2 train service on Esk Valley between Whitby and Battersby (30926) or Grosmont and Battersby (70013 and 60007)
    - Souvenir Booklet available at the weekend.

There's a very nice photo of a class 47 at Commondale on the Esk Valley line, taken during the recent diesel gala, in the new "Railway Herald" - its about the first one I've seen on the EVL outside Battersby and Glaisdale stations. Hopefully there will be a few more this wekend.

Pleased at the double heading combinations, 75029/76079 and 70013/75029, particularly good ones (just watch they will be on the day I cannot attend - Saturday!!)

Thanks Steven for the news update.

Unfortunately, the impending need to replace Bridge 30 means that the only double-header allowed over it the coming weekend will be 75029 and 76079. Other booked double-headers are going to have to run "Top and Tail".

    Apologies for any disappointment

Well, only managed to get there on Sunday this year, had to go into work on Friday and Saturday I opted to sit it out with the gales. Despite that managed to get some nice footage on the camcorder, first of two parts up now, second on its way in a day or two.

Hopefully should make it for the WAR weekend and I also a two days footage in the pipe line from august bank holiday weekend.
