Work requires me to be in London next Thursday and I have Friday booked as leave, so I idly checked the possibility of going up to the NYMR.

Despite the perception of overpriced tickets on the National network, I managed to find a £60 return to Eaglescliffe from London, going out Friday, and back Sunday. B&B booked for £35p/n in Middlesborough, which I'm sure will be an experience. Will be on my own, which might be a bit too solitary, so if there are any posters that fancy a pint during the weekend do signpost where you are, on here!

Photos on Facebook show the Caley has arrived at New Bridge and been offloaded, with blue smokebox number/shed plates.

And working todays 1600 Pickering to Grosmont service with 37 on the back in case it needs a friendly shove. Ps photo shows Caley waiting in Pickering P2 as 37 arrives with 1430 off Grosmont.

Plans for which trains to travel on now in the bin, rework to see what we can get behind over the four days. Anyone confirm please, does everything face south, thanks?

I booked my 3 day ticket a while ago and only now found myself wondering does this cover just Pickering to Grosmont or on to Whitby as well?

Either way, I can't wait to get over on Thu for my annual pilgrimage.

Too right, what a pity it's only going to last for a year or so in those colours.
