So for 2024 there’ll be 4277, 53809, 90775, possibly 92203 if it gets a boiler extension, 564 (not sure when it is getting withdrawn though?), and hopefully the return of the N2.

Wissington is also available and scheduled to feature at a number of events and on days when the Victorian set runs.

564s ticket expires in August and 90775 when eventually repaired.

Last I heard 92203 had already been withdrawn? Although happy to be corrected!

I thought its ticket was up in spring and they were hoping for an extension? Are you thinking of 76084?

I believe that was the plan, and I can't find or remember where I read it now but thought I had read it was withdrawn. As you say I could be getting mixed up with 76084... hopefully that is the case and we can enjoy 92203 in this ticket for a little longer!.

Photos on Facebook show that 4277 has arrived in Sheringham - complete with Hercules nameplates.

Just to follow up on this, noticed there was a comment on a Facebook group yesterday which mentioned the status of 92203. The response was "its is not in traffic at the moment so we shall have to wait to see if it can be fixed."

So unfortunately could be that we've seen the last of 92203 in this ticket.

Hopefully see 92203, 76084, 8572 back in traffic as soon as possible.

unfortunate that so many of the fleet are coming out of service so close together.

Hopefully 4277 will take some of the pressure off.

Even then 53809 also got less than two years in addition to 90775s ticket up in less than three as well.

Although assume 1744 is still coming back to the NNR, that can't be too far off? 8572 is progressing, so that could replace one of those and not forgetting Ring Haw which is currently under overhaul.

Further comment on 92203 says that they're getting to the bottom of an issue before making a further decision on its current ticket.

Presumably all of the above explains why Wissington has been recalled from the Mid Suffolk

I think Wissington is good for hauling the Quad-Arts and vintage set, not sure how many MK1s it could handle though.

Hopefully the N2 will be back in service this year.

Thought the overhaul of the B12 was to be fast tracked but as usual hidden expenses seem to have cropped up.

Just for clarification to stop speculation:

Wissington returned to the NNR from the Mid-Suffolk as they longer had a use for it. Rather than hire it out again the M&GN Society opted to keep it on the NNR for a while. It isn’t powerful enough to work ordinary service trains but will be used on a number of occasions throughout the year to haul the Society’s Vintage Train.

Yes, the N2 is expected back before the summer.

92203 is still awaiting the verdict from the engineers who are currently busy carrying out winter maintenance on the other locos.

As with many 96 year old engines the work necessary on the B12 chassis has been found to be far more extensive (and costly) than originally envisaged.

The Y14 goes out of ticket in late August and won’t be getting an extension.

90775 is having major boiler surgery following the discovery of a small crack where the barrel joints the firebox wrapper. Expected back in traffic fir the summer.

I know I'm continuing the speculation here so I apologise, but I find the notion that Mid Suffolk no longer had a use for Wissington interesting given that they've then had to go and hire in an Andrew Barclay from Pontypool to maintain steam provision!

Thanks for your updates on the other locos
