Hi, we repainting the model railway coach at Winchcombe and after much humming and hahring we've decided to go for fully lined out maroon with maroon ends and Royal Mail transfers, similar to the coach at the SVR's Engine house. Whilst we're reasonably sure this livery is an actual one, would it have ever appeared on a MK 1 TPO? It won't make any difference to what colour we paint it, but I'd be interested to know because as far as we know we've used a bit of artistic licence for it.

If a TSO was repainted after 1962 it would have received maroon ends, although I doubt if any TSO's carried Royal Mail livery :)

Oops - now edited! Even though I know what they both stand for I still get them the wrong way round. :)

The guys looking after the TPO on the GC said that they were only in PO red and not BR maroon (then painted blue and grey) - did I hear them right?

A lovely restoration, and we've looked at it for inspiration. Initially I thought it was an LMS TPO in LMS livery but I notice it has a BR number so it must have appeared on some postal vehicles in BR times, However is a different design to ours - this is our vehicle. Just looked at the description says it was built in 1959, I think ours must be later as someone mentioned this design was brought in after the great train robbery. So it's only out by a small design change then...
