L&Y Llangollen line-up

    A Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway locomotive will venture onto Great Western Railway metals when L&YR ‘A’ class 0-6-0 No. 1300 attends the Llangollen Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala on September 2-4.

    Running in its LMS guise as No. 12322, the ‘Lanky’ 0-6-0 visits the Llangollen Railway courtesy of Andy Booth and the East Lancs Railway.

    In addition to the 1896-built locomotive, the LR’s home fleet will be running at the three-day event. ‘Manor’ No. 7822 Foxcote Manor, ‘Large Prairie’ No. 5199, ‘64XX’ 0-6-0PT No. 6430 and BR Standard ‘4MT’ 2-6-4T No. 80072 will all be in steam alongside No. 12322.

    The visiting locomotive is to be paired with the line’s suburban rake of coaches and will haul a demonstration goods train, whilst No. 6430 will be running with a single autocoach, facing Llangollen.
