    Just look at the section "Regulations 4 and 5 Exemptions in force" in the link below and compare the different conditions and exemption dates for the various operators.

    But those different operators did choose to comply with the ORR ruling, and agreed a programme to fit CDL. The time differences are due to complexities of fitting to different styles of coaches, number of vehicles, etc

    I think that applies to most of the posts on this thread. :rolleyes:

    Can no longer access the last one as the link now goes to the new one.

    More bullet points? (Always good for a presentation or press release).

    Yes, nothing new there. I think they're re-gurgitating the same content as a Marketing strategy to try and get the various news websites to pick it up as a new story to report on, plus more Google results in their favour as well. I really wish they'd stop saying the line about how (in their opinion) it's affecting tourism in the West Highlands. It's totally irrelevant. A safety issue on the train shouldn't be overlooked simply because the train is popular - in fact, if anything, that should cause the safety issue to be prioritised even more.

    I was in Fort William today, very busy as you would expect for Easter week with a number of coach parties. Service train to Mallaig a very well loaded 4 coaches.
    Noted a very large pile of coal in Fort William yard, I honestly hope that it will be used soon and has not been pre-ordered in vain.

    Besides being "economical with the truth", that sentence could have done with some proof reading.
    Who/what do "they" and "their" relate to? Those words were presumably intended to relate to WCRC but the quoted sentence doesn't mention the company (and in the previous paragraph WCR is treated as singular).

    They = the coaches Mk1 or Mk2
    Their = TOC
    Obvious to me, but then it took me two goes to pass English O level so maybe I am just thick, or plain stupid:confused:

    37409 + Mk3s + DBSO. No mention anywhere about it carrying passengers, but they're all class 1 workings.

    Edit - 37667 (D6851) leading, 37409 on the rear.

    Is anyone really suprised?- Been waiting for LSL to appear on scene as the apparent "white knight" of the Lochaber Tourist trade.

    This strikes me as quite a clear "we are here" statement.

    Presumably this means that 437409 will now not be available for the SVR Diesel Gala or is a replacement locomotive for the Jacobite being arranged ?

    LSL have their own black 5, and b1, both of which would be suitable locos for the Jacobite, the issue will be coaching stock. unless west coast decides to sell off much of their fleet and a lot of money is thrown at fitting air brakes and CDL. How many coaches does LSL have that are already fitted with CDL?

    Surely just another "tweaking the tail" move as the OAO paths are "owned by WCRC" until October I believe.

    With what LSL seem capable of - if a rake of green and cream Mk'2s with an ex DMU observation car cum DBSO together with a large logo 37 or a pair of retro green 26's appeared i wouldnt even be surprised...
    IIRC If a path isnt being utilised ( and if the train isnt even there its obvious its not going to be) it can be allocated elsewhere, you can book paths not 'own' them.

    Given the rumoured profitability of the Jacobite operations , I cannot fathom why WCRC are making such a point of principle out of this, and why every effort was not made to fit a set of Mk1's with CDL . In business you do everything to protect your cash cow . The longer this drags on and if LSL start running services from Fort William then it may go down as one of the greatest own goals ever scored

    I think that's what happened with the Shakespeare Express paths, back when they switched from WCR to VT. Once WCR stopped operating VT's trains, the paths went to VT when they had their own TOC up and running.
