    More work has been undertaken today, with more to come tomorrow. The cab has been prepared for welding for it to form part of the visitor area at Centenary Works. Many hours and oaths later, we are preparing to separate chassis from bogies. More of that to come yet! Sandi the telehandler now carries LMS10000 decals.

    The cab we are retaining was placed in position yesterday as a 'Gate Guardian'. It will form part of the visitor display outside Centenary Works. It is alongside the garden created for us by Wirksworth U3A.

    Space is tight between the chassis and bogies of any locomotive. here we see the view of 58022 taken today. We are preparing to lift the chassis. Of the changes to be made, our own Engineering Overview states: "The primary modifications that will be made to the chassis are the inclusion of cross stretchers to accept EM2 type bogie pivots and transfer the weight of the body onto the bogies via traditional bogie bolster pads to the EM2 design.     Having stripped the chassis we are now putting a lot of things on top of it! Why?
    So far we have added 14 tonnes onto the chassis. It is being done in order to apply some weight to the chassis and therefore reduce strain on straps connecting bogies and chassis.
    This will enable the loco to be shunted around Wirksworth yard (otherwise it would be rather inflexible).

    On Monday 22nd the chassis of 58022 was successfully and safely lifted from its bogies, inverted and placed on the Society's Sturgeon wagon, ready to be prepared to fit the ex-EM2 bogies.
