Very nice site. Photo 111 in the ATW folder has a delightful perspective which will utterly confuse anyone who hasn't been to Barmouth!

    Hi Folks,

My first post of the year. I've added a huge amount of pictures to my website in 2017 (both rail and travel pictures) which can be found here. http://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/

I've also been busy blogging in 2018. Here's on of the latest, which is a pictorial essay on the BR Pacers trains, the first ones of which will be coming off-lease later this year. After then being stalwarts of the Northern rail scene since the mid 1980's they'll soon be gone, so here's a look back at them over the years. https://paulbigland.blog/2018/01/12...for-pacer-trains-so-heres-a-pictorial-review/

I've added various photo updates to my website from around the UK and also from India, where I was one of 26 (mostly rail industry) folks who cycled 450km across Rajasthan to raise money for the Railway Children charity. Follow the link and you'll see which galleries have new pictures in them. http://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/recent.html

Here's another news & picture blog about all the new trains on order and the challenges brought about by over 4,000 vehicles coming off lease in the next 3 years. The Railway Magazine calculates that we'd need 52 miles of siding just to store them in. Any preserved lines got a road or two spare? https://paulbigland.blog/2018/03/28/the-new-trains-dilemma-what-to-do-with-the-old-ones/

Oh, and just to make it more complicated, today's Heathrow Express announcement means 14 Class 332s can be added to the list!
