We move now into 1972, last submission before scanning some slides at some point as I moved to colour. This was to be my last shed bashing tour with the railway club, I had already copped/griced everything that was running at the time (last one was a class 08 off Canton, 3265), and I had met the lady to whom I was about to marry and spend the rest my life with (so far!). The trip was another extended Easter event to the South West and South Wales. Laira had something to point a camera at, as did Bristol Bath Road, Severn Tunnel Jnc and Canton. At the latter we found Hymeks in chains!! According to the shed master, they has arrived from Swindon to stop crews using them even after withdrawal, being preferred over the Class 37’s for coal trains up the valleys. Mindless actions by prejudice bean counters at head office!
