Why yes it does! That would be something I would donate towards!
Although, my question still remains, although, perhaps maybe I need to ask it this way:
"Is this theme going to be like 2017's but solely focused on GW/Ex-GW lines?"

And apparently because my over-caffeined filled brain thinks I need to ask these:
How many coach sets are running and what's their order?
Is there a goods train and demo shunting freight running?
How many visitors are you getting? 3 or 4?
Is 3850 going to be ready in time and is it going to appear at the gala?

Themes are always up for interpretation! :)

4 coaching sets, 1 goods set, undecided on shunting stuff.

We'll stick with 'up to 8 engines in steam' for now. 3850 only the team working on it can say, although 2 prominent members are also on the gala committee. If it's ready we will certainly run it.

It sounds like you're attending, so why not buy your ticket now :)

As usual, take what we get, but something small and usually fussing around Winchcombe whilst disposing of our bacon and sausage buns (with brown sauce), always goes down well with the wife!

Thank you. That's all I wanted to know.
My attendance will depend on strike action and money, considering Bluebell and West Somerset are holding some cracking events in the same month.

If I was a millionaire, I would certainly do all three!

Would Alex be so stupid, or is it brave to westernise one of Southerns finest,
i think we need to turn up at Winchcombe C&W with a pot of Malachite green paint and and " offer "to paint one of their GWR engines in Southern Sunshine livery and if he intervenes, prehaps paint Alex too, :)

TWO new builds at the same gala! That is audacious! Is that the complete line-up now or is there one more visitor to come?

It is quite remarkable that, pre-covid, if you wanted a gathering of 4 GWR 4-6-0s operating together you had to use multiple Halls and/or Manors and we're now in a situation where you can do it with representatives of 4 different designs thanks to the recreation/resurrection of 2 designs from the grave. I did wonder who would be the first railway to bring the Saint and Grange together and especially exciting that there'll be a Manor and a Hall there as well!

I love all steam engines. 35006 is ace, but my favourite steam locos are GWR 4-6-0s. I've never understood people who only like certain classes.

Why waste a superior shade of green on an inferior class of loco? :)

Be careful Ian, someone's already suffered a sense of humour failure already. but they had the sence to remove it, but saying that, what a great april fools to turn out 2807 in Southern green, with sunshine lettering even if it says GWR on the tender, just to placate a few,

I'm rather hoping that the P&O folk will turn it out as 5006 Tregenna Castle ;-)

I really hope they take advantage of this opportunity to do a four 4-6-0 photographic line up of Saint, Manor, Grange and Modified Hall.

Also a Grange and Saint double header would be nice, pairing two of GWR loco preservation's finest achievements.

Pleased to announce our final guest loco as mogul 9351 from the West Somerset Railway!

    9351 Churchlands-7227.jpg

    Don Bishop

This means all 3 of our guests are new build locos, with the Sant and Grange completing the trio of GWR designed engines that never got saved (or in the mogul's case, built in the first place!)

No excuses now not to book your ticket at www.gwsr.com/galas/steam-gala, it will do wonders for the gala and finance teams' stress levels! :)

This may be a silly question, but do tickets sell out?

I may be back down in the shire for this weekend and thus would be an opportunity to bring aged ex Swindon Works employed father to see the Saint etc, but won't know till nearer the time?

Nope, you can buy tickets on the day, they're just a couple of quid cheaper if you buy online beforehand. Usually online ticket sales close on the Thursday evening or thereabouts.
