Yes I am an active volunteer
I've received a framed GWR system map, which is rather discoloured:

The frame has been crudely painted in brown, and the general appearance is brown-ish. Its a sort of silk screen print on a bare steel sheet, very thin.

Some of the dark marks are rust holes, but many of the brown discolourations seem to be just stains of some sort. I've tried soap & water, household bleach cleaner, vinegar and chrome polish paste. The latter worked a little bit, but only after a very hard rubbing.

Anyone had a similar experience, and ideas how to get it clean?

No I do not currently volunteer
Absolutely no idea on how to clean it up, but from memory there was something similar in the King and Castle in Kidderminster, no idea if it’s genuine or a replica but maybe a little chat with someone at Kidderminster might be able to give a few pointers?
