Fair point, hadn't realised her previous visit was so recent - she has proven popular at the SVR though.

I suggested hiring 68153 on one of the facebook posts. Sadly nobody seems to have jumped at that idea. It's a loco we've never had before and would be cheaper to transport than just about anything else!

There will be "Boscastle Shed tours" on the Saturday and Sunday (Oct 5/6th) so an opportunity to walk up to the shed and go with a guide to see the work going on inside. The tours are free, but a donation towards the overhaul of Boscastle is appreciated.

They would be better advertising it as a mixed traffic gala, as a diesel and a dmu in the timetable

There's a class 20 and a DMU that I can see in the timetable. Mixed traffic surely refers to the trains, mixed traction would better reflect the addition of diesels although I don't think it's warranted in this case as the 20 only does three trips from Rothley Brook to Loughborough.

Well, I can see 3 single passenger trips in that linked timetable worked by D8001 Fri/Sat/Sun, plus the DMU doing a five round trips, so where is the other diesel?
As one of the original proposed steam visitors isn't attending then something else will have to be used to fill in any "gaps" left over.....

I understand there's a chance another loco (steam) could yet be added to the roster for the gala this weekend. A few ifs, buts and maybes, but it's a possibility ;-)

Has 41312 finished it's duties at Didcot before it heads north to Bo'ness?

It went for a spin on the turntable as part of the photo charter - but I don't know which way it finished the day.

Seems like railways have en mass decided to hold galas the same weekends lately. 13-15 Sept was a busy one and now this upcoming weekend! Crazy! I am scratching around for something to do next weekend!
