Video from a very enjoyable Friday and Saturday. I won't forget 7802 on the TPO in a hurry!

Many thanks for posting videos of gala here. Would be interested to know feelings regarding how busy gala is in terms of passenger numbers? Doubtless damp/dark weather likely to effect this as well....

Very busy yesterday. Looks like it is going to be a sunny one today, though a bit breezy!

Saturday was busy - standing room only on some trains. The TPO demonstration at Quorn & Woodhouse was two/three deep...

Fantastic gala, well worth the 320+ mile round-trip from Sussex (where the only chance to see steam in January is 323 'Bluebell' on the Footplate Tasters at Sheffield Park). The box van train was a personal highlight.

Many thanks for feedback. Pleased that event was well attended and agree that this event certainly provides just about the only 'steam fix' at this time of the year!

Yes, that bears out my own observations. It will be disappointing for a small, but vocal, group of disenfranchised lineside photographers, who were adamant that their removal from the lineside would represent a crashing commercial disaster for the railway, and see significantly lower attendances at galas.

Visited yesterday. Excellent gala as always!

One question for those in the know, what/why are there Northern units parked at Quorn?

Being tested / evaluated for use on the "Big Railway", Overhead and third rail units converted to "Tri-mode" with diesel engines added.

I visited on Sunday and it seemed a bit quiet. I was on and off the trains pretty much all day and never had any problem finding a seat. I heard several people comment that they hoped it had been busier on the first two days - presumably from comments above more people opted for the Saturday.

Anyway, an enjoyable day apart from a biting cold wind. Thanks as always to all those who made it happen.

    Hello all

Had a great day on Sunday, at GCR galas it seems there is always something arriving or departing . My thanks to everyone who made it happen.
