    Firefighters are attempting to stop a barge from sinking in a canal in an area of Birmingham.
    The barge became grounded on the banks of the Birmingham Midland Mainline Canal near Roburn Lane in Smethwick and is now in danger of sinking.

    A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said two fire engines are attempting to pump water out of the boat back into the canal.

    It is not thought anyone has been injured in the incident.
