I know that the NYMR and KWVR will be running trains during the February Half Term, but are any other railways open? Any information would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

From this link to the Bluebell Railway it looks like they could be open for February half-term https://www.bluebell-railway.com/timetables-and-calendar/

I imagine that James Squared will up date that here and/or on the Bluebell thread when he gets firmer news, he does us proud with the information flow he provides for the Bluebell Railway.

Andrew, I'll add dates to your post if I may please. Those events are from 9 Feb 2024 to 18 February, with Friday 9 Feb not being a half term day.

I've only added those dates as the first web site I checked showed half term in England a week later. But I have checked Kent, Surrey and East & West Sussex and their half terms fit the events you have outlined, except for the 9 February when the little loves will just have to sit by an open window at school to enjoy the steam loco sounds coming from the Spa Valley Railway! :):) However, Durham County Council seem to 'recommend' half term for the next week!

And Jonnie usually gives an excellent flow of information about the Spa Valley railway on the Spa Valley Railway thread here.

The Severn Valley Railway 'provisional calendar' shows 10-11 Feb, mid-week 13-15 Feb and 17-18 Feb. I think it will only be Kidderminster to Highley as the yard re-lay phase 2 will be in progress at Bridgnorth, but open to confirmation on that.

We should be running from Bridgnorth but using the 2 car DMU as the service train from that end.

Looking at the Nene Valley calendar, the colour coding shows 'Thomas' shuttles on 10/11 and 17/18 February and the Yellow timetable on the 14th.

I would imagine this is the timetable for the weekends.

    https://nvr.org.uk/shopimages/NVR Web - Winter Fun Timetable.pdf

6 trips to Yarwell and back with Thomas, and the Pacer doing 3 Peterborough trips.

Didcot is running both weekends and the Wednesday of half term. 5199 is visiting, and 4144 will be back from a year on hire, so large prairie bonanza...

How does the CVR operate these days? I've never been but it seems most days now are only 2 services. Do you just buy a return ticket for a set trip from Froghall? If I wanted to get off at Cheddleton and explore is this allowed?

As long as you don’t mind the wait you can get off where you want, tickets also allow you to travel all day so on both trains if you wish.
