Great filming in awful conditions Austin , its a pity the line does not do more freight runs as a norm just to get the paying punters in .

Thanks Steve, it would be nice to see some more freight on the line as it has such a lot going for it. I suspect though that they have their market with trains to the lake steamers being so popular. There may well be further charters in the future

I agree Austin , the market for them is the tours back and forth for the steamers on the lake . I wonder if they could do the freight in the months when nothing happens on the line with a weekend or two set aside for folk to pay to see and video etc .

I have sorted out a couple from the Thursday charter - cloudy but dry was the best on offer

What amazed me on my first proper photographic visit to the line was how outstanding the lineside is looked after and with long runs of telegraph poles and wires, it still very much looks like a BR branch line. The staff and volunteers were exceptional in making us feel welcome and the food was superb. I hope to come back to the line soon and it would be great not only for the Fairburn to stretch its legs elsewhere but to bring in some typical engines of the north west here, Ivatt Class 2 or a BR Std 4MT perhaps? A selection from the Friday
