    If anyone is interested, I have established a set on Flickr of my photos of the East Lancashire Railway in BR days. 1969-1980.

    The one of the restaurant car at Rawtenstall was interesting. For a short period sometime in the 1980s/90s, Bleak
    Holt animal sanctury which is situated in the hills above Rawtenstall, had a restaurant car which it used as a cafe for
    visitors. Could this be the one?

    Some more added. Mainly of stored 504s at Bury. Some strange liveries: Green, Blue with small yellow panels, blue with wrap round cab panels.

    Fantastic pictures !

    Interesting to note that the shoe gear has changed since the 1970's...

    The 3 rd rail connector shoe box changed from a metal square box to the more rounded edge, rectangular fibreglass shape somewhere along the way. I noticed this on several pictures.
