    Thanks for the great pictures of my favorite 1st Gen AC electrics. Those pictures of 84008 show it with one remaioning spoked wheel. I remember seeing it like that running through Rugeley, I suppose it would have been 1978-9 summat like that. Just out of interest for anybody who's curious, NBL fitted spoked wheels to its diesels and electrics to reduce the unsprung weight and give a better ride, and as any now old driver will tell you, NBLs did ride very well even if they did break down rather alot!
