I presume you think we should pause this scheme until the price comes down and that you have been bamboozled by the government’s expertise on managing rail projects, people like you think that the time is never right to build or extend any railway. Maybe you think we should cut back and trash everything in the country as our country gradually declines into third world status?

As the NSRC members who attended the AGM have been informed, and the CVR Shareholders have also now received their own Calling Papers - a joint appeal has been started by the two companies.
    https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/relocatecabin

    In short:
    * 1965(ish) BR knocked down the orignal signal box
    * 1977 Elton box was saved by the NSRC, but land ownership meant it couldn't be re-erected at the orginal site
    * 1980s it was re-commissioned to operate Cheddleton Railway Centre
    * 1996 it was re-purposed to control movements to/from Yard > mainline (vice versa)
    * 2024... it could control signals protecting the level crossing...

But we need help. We have costed this out including the use of volunteers where we can, done a new scheme to incorporate the large Elton Cabin over the existing footprint of the original Cheddleton Cabin, and identified replacement Staffordshire Blue Bricks. We basically need people to fund the expansion of the concrete foundations, and to buy the replacement bricks as we are unable to re-locate the current locking room.

Once this is done, the aim is to commission the protecting signals for the level crossing to elimiante manual flag waving / transfer the operation of the yard entrance/exit into the new box (hence the focus on Chedd) / motorise the level crossing itself (hence the acquisitiion of the former Hassall Green gates).

Slowly you can see things are coming together, so please keep trusting us and keep donating - collectively we will make things happen when we work as one.

There has been no work done for about the last six months. The site has an abandoned look to it.

Surely not? That was nothing there in the first place but it looked like the last bit to be done.

Appeal has succeeded in raising £18,125 without Gift Aid. This has given us enough to start, Staffordshire blue bricks have been purchased and are now in store and a start is due to be made on the foundations in the coming days subject to weather. Hopefully we’ll have something to show off for May Gala.

Next job is to decommission the current lever frame for its impending transfer, the decommissioning is hoped to be finished for Easter.
Then the focus will be to transfer the operation of the crossing gates into the “new” SB.
Also got a fault list to work through that will blow the dust off Consall SB ready for May, and a couple of ongoing projects elsewhere across the railway.
If you want to get involved feel free to get in touch, exciting times lay ahead!

A great sound from 75014 yesterday. A few slips on the morning run but very surefooted on the afternoon run.

Not sure if there is a website error but when you click on the calendar for Easter it says trains go to Ipstones but the Easter timetable shown says Leekbrook. Even through as far as September the calendar page says Public Train Service stopping at Consall, Cheddleton & Ipstones. Is that now the regular service?

Thank you very much for uploading your film. I was on both the trains yesterday and had a very enjoyable visit. 75014 as can be seen and heard is quite a machine. It was steaming superbly and the fireman said it was a really good loco.

Are CVR issuing lineside passes? Clearly you were lineside where there is no public access

The regular CVR service is from Froghall to Consall, Cheddleton, though Leekbrook Junction & up to Ipstones loop. However event days can vary this. You picked Easter as an example and you'll see some of these days on the timetable are Mad Hatter Tea Party days when the service is the Valley route only i.e Froghall to Leekbrook.

Once is leek station is finished (Any updates?)

Assume the run will be Froghall > Consall > Cheddleton > Leekbrook > Leek > Ipstones ?
