As @mrKnowwun has pointed out elsewhere, outward times are now available on the Open Train Times site, though return times don't seem to be available yet. OTT says an assisting loco will be attached or detached during the 20 min stop in Hanwell Bridge Loop. Not sure what that means - my best guess is that a DL will lead the ECS in the morning and stay on the back as far as Hanwell. Presumably the reverse will happen on the return - re-attach the DL on the back at Southall/Hanwell to lead the ECS home later.

Edit - SD web-site says "This trip will be diesel hauled between West London and Horsham on the return journey"

The 15 min stop at Goring is a strange one on such a busy line(and where NR have in the past refused to allow SD trains to call at all).

Don't think it can be for water as the down relief line is alongside the island platform!

Still no times on UKSteam, despite them appearing on the SD site, which makes me a tad nervous about the running of this train. However, the Dorking section is my home turf so it won't be a great time waste if it's a no-show!

Edit - RTT now has the working showing, although (yet again in the case of 61306) shows it timed for a 60mph maximum rather than the correct 75mph.

Strange discrepancies between the WTT and RTT schedules on the GW section, too - e.g. 20 minutes at Reading with RTT times, but only three with WTT times!

Yep: sounded (and looking) good just after moving away from Horsham station earlier (see not very good photograph). Dining at the front.

Not on this one (obviously) but l opened my emails on Monday to find 3 Pullman Style Dining tickets for it sitting in my inbox. For some reason l received them instead of my neighbour who had actually requested printed tickets by post when he booked the seats. No input from me at all; strange . Hope all on board have a good day.

Not often we have a tour going on the line near my house, especially in that direction. Here's a really grotty handheld phone video (watching train, not screen). This is at Epsom Common, there seems to be a pretty reasonable gradient up from Ashtead station. I'm told she was very audible inside the house and all my partners dogs went outside to listen!

Its quite a nice spot in that direction as the line is straight for about a mile down to Ashtead station.

And so we also have Warnham, with the ECS down and then the service up. I had planned to do two locations, but suddenly realised on the way from A to B I could get in another shot, so we have a wet Mickleham Crossing, before we get to Twyford, where magically the 47 had disappeared, presumably left behind at Hanwell Loop.
