I was not sure whether to post this is the narrow gauge section as whilst it is from the Talyllyn it set me wondering if other railways with a range of engines could but do it.

Really starts about 2 and a bit minutes in or it is repeated just after 5 minutes

Fantastic! Can't imagine that was easy to arrange (or rehearse....).

There was also the 'longest organ concert' a few days before - more info on that here.

The Talyllyn is fast becoming the musical railway....though this may have something to do with the fact the current society chair is a music teacher ;)

That was great. I was trying to identify the sound of any ex main line whistles (an A4 and Stanier hooter in there somewhere?) but it got too complex in the end !

    There's quite a few!

1 carries a GW whistle (just one of them)
2 carries an ex-Caley hooter and a very high-pitched Peckett whistle
3 carries a chime whistle (ex A4 or Brit)
4 carries both GW type whistles
7 carries a Stanier hooter (ex 8f) and another I'm not sure of

6 also has a chime whistle (again either A4 or Brit - we have one of each but I can never remember which carries what).

Not every whistle was heard during the tune.

Now if they could arrange for just one of them to play a Fender Stratocaster that would really be something. :)

All steam locos are musical but some are more musical than others. :)
