So anybody who can only visit on the Friday can’t travel behind 73082 - that’s very disappointing !

I suspect crewing a further loco might be the issue. I was told a few years that they struggled to get sufficient fireman for mid week turns, since they were usually younger and working and rarely had a problem at weekends.

    .... and
..... and 30541 seems to have disappeared. I suppose 6046 is more a "Giant of Steam". Is that the one that was on the West Somerset a couple of years ago? If so I remember it didn't cover itself with glory. Not a great fan of the S160s - wouldn't win any prizes at a beauty contest but it's something different for the Bluebell. Looking forward to the event - couldn't make the 60+1 weekend.

They are changing locos on both occasions. It is a strange way to show it.

A former colleague at work (now retired) lives very near the MHR. He hated the S160 3278 because he said it was so bloody noisy and made everything rattle. I always knew when they had used it on the MHR as he would come and moan about it! He didn't mind any of the other locos.
3278 quite often seemed to go wrong when I was visiting. I recall it worked pretty well on the Santa's in the snow when my parents took me on them many years ago.

The timetable has been updated for the gala.

80151 and 6046 now not operating at the event. 73082 working Friday and 847 and 263 also in steam over the weekend

Shame about 6046, let's hope she runs again before she's due to leave. Still, a last hurrah for 263 and 847 is no bad thing.

    Has 6046 developed a fault?

    Regards

The loco went back to the Churnet Valley following a problem a few weeks back and returned to the Bluebell last week.

A shame 6046 won't be running though. I'm hoping I can go, I haven't seen Cheltenham in BR livery yet and 35028 is one of my favourite locos so always happy to see and travel behind her.
