Great news, and Adrian Shooter's legacy is secured. Congratulations to all involved.

Yep the B class sold for £250,000, the guard DHR coach sold for £20,000 and the other DHR coach sold for £15,000, all to the trust. Her boiler ticket is up in February but looks like they are planning a speedy overhaul as they want to take it on tour later in 2024.

The simplex sold for £15,000, the cabbed Hunslet diesel at £14,000, and the Model T railcard sold for £25,000. Fascinating, given we rarely find out the cost that rolling stock changes hands at.

Pleased that 19D has "been saved" as well as all the other items.

I recall her visit to the South Tynedale and hopefully we'll see her there again after the overhaul.

They are actually my local auctioneer, I was surprised to read it was them tbh as they mostly hold farm machinery or farm related auctions, that kind of thing normally along with some more general auctions.

The large channel tunnel construction locomotive has gone to the FWHR.

Unsure where any of the other rolling stock has gone.

I thought it was used in the Jubilee Line Extension? (1 of 6 locos - all preserved).

I was invited, along with all the other Darjeeling Tank Locomotive Trust supporters and the railway press to a special 'launch day' for 19B at Statfold yesterday.
Attendance was apparently much higher than expected, with around 300 people showing up for a presentation, cake, samosas and rides around the railway!

It was great to hear from the Trustees about some of their future plans for the loco, they talked with a great deal of candour and transparency that not all groups in preservation necessarily exhibit, and I left feeling confident that the loco, and my own small contributions towards it, are going to be very well managed.

The upshot is that, although the future of the loco and coaches is now secure, there's still lots of fundraising required to clear the outstanding loans, fund the upcoming overhaul (boiler ticket expires in February) plus the other things they want to do in future. Therefore, even though the auction itself is over, DTLT are still very much seeking contributions and new supporters.
Information on ways to support the DTLT are on the website at www.darjeelingtank.org.uk

P.S. Mods, wonder if it's worth a thread rename if this is now going to cover 19B with new home and ownership.
