    WELSH Assembly government chiefs were under fire yesterday after plans to boost a border rail service were shelved.

    Electrification of the Bidston to Wrexham rail link was put on the back-burner by Welsh Labour as a concession to their coalition colleagues, Plaid Cymru, it was suggested yesterday.
