    Morning All,

To celebrate 50 years of preservation, the Bluebell held a special Gala over last weekend. I went along on the Saturday, exactly 50 years to the day since public passenger services commenced.

The first selection of pictures in now on my Fotopic site and here's the link for anyone interested to have a look :

To give you a taster, here's the first picture :

Clicking on the the picture will enlarge it and take you to the others.

At the moment, they are all in the 'Stop Press!' collection for new pictures. In due course, however, I shall move them on and they will then be in a new Bluebell Railway collection in the 2nd Gallery, here :

Hope that they are of interest. More to follow as time permits.

Thanks for the link, Tom. I'd forgotten that there is a separate forum for Galas.

It really was a super event and I hope that the financial results were satisfactory. The trip up to the Imberhorne Tip in the LNWR Observation Car was a jolly good five quids worth!

Seeing other people pictures in 'the other' thread is interesting. It was such a big do that I doubt many people could have seen and done everything unless they are fortunate enough to live locally and could go on more than one of the days.

Full marks to the organizers for a splendid show. I'll try and get a few more of my pictures on Fotopic next week in case anyone is interested to see them.

Further to my previous message, another batch of pictures from the Bluebell's 50th Anniversary Gala is now on my Fotopic site. Same place as before if anyone is interested to have a look :

I'm one of those who lives locally and had the chance for 3 days. So far this year I've spent 5 days on events down there and maybe a few more when Giants is on during October compared to the one day I've been doing for the last few years.

So far this year alone I've clocked up in excess of 1400 miles travelling on steam trains at the Bluebell. There has to be a better way of occupying your time once you retire from the day job?

Despite being rather busy with matters other than railways at the moment, I have managed to get a further batch of pictures from my day trip to the Bluebell Line onto my Fotopic site. Here's the first one :

Anyone interested to see the others is invited to click on the picture; this will enlarge it and take you to the others. Alternatively, click on this link :

I've still got some of the captions to finish, but I'm sure that you will know what you are looking at!

Hopefully, I shall get the rest of the pictures on there eventually!
