    D6851.

Wouldn't expect RTT to be updated till quite close before running.

That would be logical, but the words logic and the national network often do not sit well together in the same sentence. So see if anything appears on RTT near the time, or someone "in the know" posts on here.

However I expect SETG and the Bluebell railway, rather than watching it on route, would prefer people to go to the gala to ride in the unit (presume the 4-VEP can take passengers on the Bluebell line?) in push pull mode?.

Generally its always seemed to be an GBRf loco that powers the moves in the past, But as you so rightly point out, any suitably fitted loco can pull the Vep, as long as its compatible, it will of course need extention brake pipes, to couple up to the higher level of the units brake pipes, are extention pipes still in use on network rail ?

From the Bluebell railway diesel gala thread the VEP will move from Strawberry Hill to the Bluebell line Thursday afternoon 15:00 5Z94 via Clapham Junction.

Looks like the gala and the 4-VEP running in push pull with 33111 was a success.
Back to Strawberry Hill, under cover, today.
And presume more work to be done

I liked the authentic 77 on the 33 and 66 on the VEP headcodes! out of interest did SR / BR(S) have route codes for the Bluebell line S of East Grinstead even though it was never used by DEMUs?

I lived in EG until 10 years ago and discovered the new housing estate next to Hill Place viaduct for the first time on Friday; there are several new footpaths which never existed before and are a welcome addition!
