Have to say, the AWS reservoir behind the nameplate is an impressive level of detail, plus the lack of smokebox oil cover. You obviously can't get much past a Potter fan.

Surely there’s no need for AWS on Hogwarts Castle though, you just point the wand and say Adoubleyellocancelessiuss every time you approach a signal displaying that aspect?

I’ve always wondered about the footplate crew on Hogwarts Castle… I’m guessing they must be from Saltley?

Good that it’s undercover, good that it will be seen and enjoyed by millions most likely, good that it is flying the flag for Great Britain.

I still feel weirdly sad to see it exported, given Dumbleton Hall’s history in preservation. There’s a part of me that feels there is something inherently unfair for supporters of the loco over the years to see it sent to Japan.

Maybe I’m being unfair and they are glad to see it safe, which is the main thing. But I know how I’d feel about Clan Line after the work put in to preserve and run her, if the same happened (and for clarity, no I am not saying we are doing that!).

Your more than welcome to Ross, I think it’s no secret I visit certain ‘specialist’ Websites…

Wasn’t there an MP who recently lost their job due to, erm, a predilection for browsing certain “niche tractor-related websites” in the House of Commons?

It would interesting to know how complete the loco is now.

I would have thought it would have been cheaper to make a mock up loco like is in Florida rather than buying a real loco...

So it seems that Hogwarts Castle is in both Japan and London at the same time.

    What sorcery is this ?
