Times up for this but the move from London Euston looks odd though as no stop at Carnforth for the steam attachment .

Think I have read somewhere else that the electric is staying on all the way to Carlisle?

Apparently the electric loco normally used, Les Ross, is on hire to ROG at the moment in connection with some contract for Bombardier. Not sure whether it is available for the CathEx.

I can't believe this still goes on. Why don't they have a shore supply?

Worthy of a comment. 46115 is unassisted today. Shame she couldn't attack Shap.....

It still feels like a modern traction day with a guest appearance of a steam loco though. It's just worth remembering that if you board at Euston, a little over a quarter of your day, only, is behind a steam locomotive.

Sorry can't help you as wasn't counting as she coasted through Cark, amusingly as I am using counting coaches on you tube videos to help my three year old with her counting she counted them through and finished with a flourish of 'and a diesel on the back' as it's how we finish when watching video's - despite there being no diesel today. When she did it it made me chuckle.

Surprised she doesn't say "and a box on the back"... ;)
...it would be easier to say and would be more appropriate language for use on this forum in the future! :D

It is clear nobody is entitled to a publicly offered rationale for such differences and nor should anyone expect same. The only observation worth noting is that 15th is RTC whereas yesterday was SD promoted. Whether that makes a difference is anyone's guess.
On the topic of operational differences, yesterday an in-house WC charter did not have a DL in the consist when it wouldhave been reasonable to expect one. Does WC have more discretion WRT its own trains perhaps?

Is there not what we could loosely call a 'special relationship' between the RTC and WCRC that SD does not enjoy?

Suspect 86259 would be of little assistance around the Cumbrian Coast anyway ;)
