There is Peckett 1859 Sir Gomer which is sat in the shed awaiting overhaul after its ticket expired in about 2019. There's also Peckett 2012 Teddy which is being overhauled by the owner and will technically be based at the railway once overhauled, but will obviously not be suitable for regular services and will see more use on special events on things like shunting and driver for a tenner etc.
The railway for many years pre COVID had a good relationship and agreement with the South Devon which saw a South Devon loco allocated to spend each year at Shackerstone. However unfortunately post COVID the South Devon has not had the fleet capacity to maintain that arrangement with all railways they supplied locos to pre COVID and unfortunately they dropped the agreement with Shackerstone.

    GCR 125 DAYS ?

16-18 Great Central & Great Central (N) GCR 125 Anniversary Open Weekend https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/whatson2024/

Is 16-18 March correct as that is Sat/Sun/Mon which is an unusual 3day event rather than Fr/Sa/Su; the GCR web site DOES have 16-18 and presumably source gen but am wondering if that is an error there and been repeated ?

Or is 18th March a significant date re. LER 125 ?

A quick google says not QUOTE Building work started in 1895, and the new line, 92 miles (147 km) in length, opened for coal traffic on 25 July 1898, for passenger traffic on 15 March 1899, and for goods traffic on 11 April 1899 UNQUOTE but as always anything on the web may be suspect.

Any chance this thread could be pinned to the top, as per previous years?

Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway has announced the visiting locos for their Gala 4-6 May - 'St Egwin' of the Evesham Vale Light Railway and 'Mr Hallworth', the new locomotive from Perrygrove Railway. Neither has operated at R&ER before. 'Mr Hallworth' has not operated publicly at any railway other than its home yet AFAIK. https://ravenglass-railway.co.uk/events/2024-gala-celebrations
