2015 October - Hallowe'en and Bonfires

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Karen Willans, Nov 2, 2015.

End of season steam and screams

It's the end of passenger train running until the Santa Specials, however it's fair to say we went out with a bang.

The Hallowe'en trains ran over three nights - Wharf has never seen so many scary witches, wizards, zombies and clowns. All the costumes looked fantastic! Many thanks to the volunteers and staff who put in so much effort to make Wharf look amazing.

On Saturday night we held our annual bonfire and fireworks party. Unusually, the weather was perfect - no rain, or wind, and it wasn't even cold. The bonfire was made from old wood and sleepers from around the railway. Our Young Members Group was responsible for organising the bonfire building - attendees reckoned it was the biggest bonfire we've ever had. The fireworks were absolutely spectacular. The valley was shaking when some of the rockets exploded. Many thanks are due to everyone who had a hand in helping make it a fantastic evening.
