It's moot at this point, @Lineisclear, but it's pretty hard to argue that the fairness obligation extends to creating two sets of ordinary members - which is precisely what has happened. But you do you.....

I find this all rather sterile. Just because the law allows people to get away with acting a certain way doesn’t make it right, particularly in the context of the membership body of a heritage railway.

Sorry but it tells me that some members have made their minds up and will not listen to the trustees - I realise that some may be frustrated but that is no reason to shout at the trustees.

And sometimes whether due to privilege or commercial reasons things have to be kept confidential and "at board level". I perfectly understand a membership requesting information but sometimes as a company the board may just not be able or it not...
