I give you what impact it has had on the Nene Valley Railway - cancelled twice now, will those visitors or participants on various charters, driving experiences, whatever, will they hope "third time lucky" or just give up?

[MEDIA] Here's my footage of Clun Castle tackling the South Devon Banks for the first time since the 1980s with the Z48. I filmed her at Dorsley Park Bridge on Rattery Bank, Old Hemerdon Sdings (the aftermath of the stall), Burlescombe, and St...

RTC still has Bahamas advertised for a number of summer trains. Some clash with visit to Peak Rail, so major website updating is urgently required. Mind you, I'm not holding my breath for those trains booked for 45596 haulage prior to its visit....

It's good that BLS have got somewhere to earn steaming fees for the summer. Just another unforseen result of the CDL issues at Carnforth. Cheers, Neil

Wasn't ETCS, that is what we are talking about, so as to make the loco the 'go to' choice for the ECML? Logical at one level but no help at all in finding decent paths as the loco still cannot go faster than 75 mph.

My shots from the last two days, the outward run at Horse Cove, and the return run along the sea wall at Dawlish and Newton St Loe. Well done to all involved! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

This morning RTT showed a Crewe to Kidderminster ecs movement at the start of what looks like busy week for LSL. So purely out of curiosity I went to see having expected just light engine moves for the gala. 37409 (built 1965 as D6970 at Vulcan...

Several years passed between the construction of Tornado's original boiler and the order for the new ones. I think A1SLT have acknowledged - though I can't find where - that skills of the current management in Germany and their engineering...

The logic behind ordering two new boilers was that the per unit cost was significantly less. The plan was to be able to turn round overhauls more quickly on both locos by having a refurbished boiler ready to use, hence getting whichever loco back...
