The Bahamas Locomotive Society have a newly launched book available all about Bahamas written by Pete Skellon one of the long term members who's been involved since the early days at Dinting..... maybe another way to raise funds to help keep the...

Yes, though I've heard the words Smithy, Toys and Pram mentioned for it not continuing.

I wonder when or should I say if timetables will be published. When I asked about a timetable for this coming Saturday I was told 1030 and every 45 minutes

I’m pretty sure the declared overhaul timescale was 6 months, and this included a new boiler, the fitment of ETMS and new tyres. Tour tickets were being sold for later that summer (I have chapter and verse if anyone wants more detail).

Although Tornado is indeed somewhat more complex, I don't think the third cylinder and associated stuff makes much difference to the task of designing and installing the ERTMS stuff; and the fact that Tornado already had a lot of electrical...

"Whilst we look forward to updating you all with the news that our flagship locomotive, Tornado, is finally back on the rails, unfortunately that day is a little further away than any of us would ideally like. The overhaul has in part been...

Some did go to the GE section when the Britannias were withdrawn after some cases of axle movement were discovered. I think they were quickly returned!

As always many people have hit the nail on the head including @Jamessquared in differentiating between innovators/builders and maintainers. I wouldn't presume to understand the thinking of the A1ST. It's their business to work with those who look...

I have taken the liberty of quoting this post verbatim in an email to the Trust. Let's see what they have to say.

The Trust started with an extremely competent team covering all the areas of expertise. It was correspondingly extremely successful at first. No longer, apparently.

Well, what a week it has been (and still is)! First, and definitely most important, last Saturday Mrs W's team won at Leicester and so avoided relegation - Mrs W opened a bottle of the fizzy wine to celebrate. Another reason to celebrate, it...
