It appears that different books have different records. I used Ray Townsin's book "The Jubilee 4-6-0s" and R.J.Essery's "LMS Jubilees".

He's probably pleased with the froth it's creating! Peter Beet (his Dad), loved to create a livery storm during the formative years at Steamtown. 6441 upset a few, the Fairburns in LNWR/CR livery created an outcry and 5407 in Furness red topped the lot!

Looks like Chris is carrying on a family tradition and I reckon his Dad would be as pleased as punch if Nat Pres can be read in the after-life!

I do suppose there's one thing worse than being talked about... I always thought that Chris Beet would put it in A
BR livery though according to one mag a few years when 45690 was at the same stage at its last overhaul, the livery question was put to both Mr Beet's. Mr Beet Sr said 'Red' (Paraphrased) Mr Beet Jrs reply was somthing along the lines of 'I bought Dad a 45690 numberplate for Christmas does that answer your question?!' As I've mentioned before on here I certainly dont mind it in black its certainly somthing a bit differnt. Should Mr Beet be reading this Id just like to say 1 thing and thats simply 'Thankyou'. Now when can we see it at the SVR on the Carmine and Cream set?!

The SVR have stated that both of their Galas next year will include old favourites as it's a big anniversary year. Hopefully that'll include the likes of (4)5690, 3205, 46521, 70000 maybe… the speculation starts!

I know! Had my SVR news through today I saw Mick York has a planning comittee on the case! Wont hold my breath about 70000 tho! Maybe we could see both 45690 & 45699 there though? They could bring 60009 & 61994 with them.... Just a thought!

That would be nice to keep one of the Jubilees in red

But do we know of any plans to run her?
Leander was always my favourite Jub, but I think she looks pretty nondescript now, sadly. I know that is not everyone's opinion, so I hope those who like her in BR black can enjoy her, and soon she can get over this temporary rebellious phase and get back into a proper livery...
Looks great on Black 5s, but Black 5X? Not for me, thanks.
But all you "nothing except BR livery" fans - fill yer boots.

    Couldn't agree more.

a second one like Galatea in BR Maroon would have been more than fun :)

I hope so... Needs a yellow cab side stripe on Galatea though, despite its absence this loco seems to be a bit shy of working south of Crewe todate.

Inappropriate comment about surface coatings and owner's prerogative removed...

I seem to recall Tysley have said somthing along the lines of when 7029's done Kholapur will be next... Saying that though I think 5043 is out of ticket soon I could well be wrong though.

5043 certificate has been extended to 2018 with all the upgrades that have been made to her.

Its all been a bit quiet on 7029 for a while (considering it was meant to be a fast track and ready for the start of this year).
I'm assuming business has correctly taken precedence over internal projects.. not complaining.
