Because having a theme gives people something to connect to. Is it coincidence the at a Croes Newydd Gala at Llan proved more popular than a Spring Gala? I don't think so, it made it relvant to the local people and gave a solid selling point for the gala.

"Along Western Lines" does the same again, allows people to find something to relate to the event which will give them a bigger incentive to attend.

Themes also allow relevant sideshows to be arranged, which help attract more people to the event. Galas these days are not simply about providing a train service, but a day out for those attending.

Will there be an online timetable for the gala?
    Thanks in anticipation

I'm not blaming anyone. I just really wanted to see 7822 and 5199. Isn't Jessie or Burtonwood Brewer available? I wouldn't mind seeing them in use as a pair all day. it would be like galas in the early 90s or galas on smaller lines nowadays like the Avon Valley or East Somerset.

Meant to say Darfield No. 1 not Burtonwood Brewer. Also, what about using Jennifer. I never see that engine.

I had the final draft of the WTT on friday, so the office SHOULD be transfering it into a basic version for putting online.

Jessie will be either in Scotland, Belgium or the Netherlands doing a Thomas event. Austin 1 is on hire at the Lavender line, Jennifer is on hire at Embsay, and Darfield is stored at Chasewater requireing a re tube. Not really worth the transport fees bringing locos back for a gala in the middle of the summer season. I'm looking for options to do an industrial gala at llan, but getting a time when all locos are back home, thus removing 10k worth of road transport.

BRCW Type 2 No D5310 will be joing the roster of the event to cover for unavailable 5199. The 26 should work 3 trips a day, including being on the Llan end of top- and-tail workings to CORRECTION Bonwm.

Whilst an all-steam line up was obviously the original plan for this event, it is "Along Western Lines" and BRCW Type 2's were a very familiar site on Western lines in Scotland back in the day!

That's good news about the 26. I didn't realise it was planned to run trains to Corwen too?

Thanks James. This is the plan having seen the WTT and latest news from progress on the extension. I expect the public timetable will appear on the LR website very shortly.

It's probably for the best, you'd only find some sort of trouble Mr D!

Being a director I should know this, but where will the Corwen trains actually stop to reverse ?

Sorry Folks, it would appear I have given out duff gen. Although the WTT says Corwen, the ops notice and public TT I've seen today says trains are only running to Bonwm. My apologies.
