Not seen a thread for this tour yet and oddly still no times showing for either leg of the tour .

I see the times state that the diesel will come back on at Blackburn, with only a 3 minute stop it seems very unlikely....
But there does appear to be a movement in the afternoon from Carnforth to Hellifield and return..... You draw your own conclusions from that.

Whatever is at the head of the train tomorrow needs to perform and perform well. I swear that I have my fingers crossed. Are their others who feel this way.

More to the point, I sincerely hope that Galatea gets there and back leaving the moorland intact. Many of us have suffered before as a consequence of a West Coast loco that couldn't keep its fire in the right place. Ahead of an assault of Shap on Saturday, we don't want NR getting nervous as clearly they will be until the first significant rain falls.

And torrential rain forecast for Cumbria on Friday so I don't think there will be any risk of lineside fires on the WCML at the weekend.

Sorry but I don't think that's likely as a Cl 47 weighs around 120 tons so that would have meant the equivalent load was around 15 coaches. That's not to say that Galatea wasn't putting on a good show but.......
