Both Myself and our railway's ops manager are trying to get hold of them. I wouldn't bother with their facebook page either, it seems to be run by someone who can't get hold of "bob" either.

There's one for sale at the NYMR , probably for scrap price. Don't know if it is vac braked through and it is fairly rough.

If it's the one at Pickering it's through piped for air and requires a lot of money spending on it.

Presumably the green one sitting in the long siding at Pickering gradually blending into the scenery.

    Yes-the-guy-is-Dave-Turnock-and-here-is-the-message,

    "Morning All,
Due to personal circumstances I wish to offer for sale to the Heritage Railway world my BR 20 ton vac fitted brake van and also my LMS 20 ton piped brake van.
Both are located at Oakamoor on the Churnet Valley Railway.
The BR van has the usual rot but is more or less complete and sits on a pair of near brand new sized wheelsets.
The LMS van is just the metal framework with new floor installed some time ago and other wood work for the roof etc.
Sensible offers please by the end of March, failing that they will be weighed in - needs must.
    Cheers
    Dave

    Hello all.

Whitwell and Reepham railway are selling their BR MK1 suburban, No 46116, more information can be found here: http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=1961

It is in need of a extensive overhaul but it is virtually complete.

It is with regret that we are selling the carriage but due to the lack of funding and restoration space needed we are unable to provide the TLC it needs.

PM me for more information if you are interest.

We (Birmingham Railcar Workgroup) have a Mark 1 Gangwayed Brake (BG) for sale.

It is 81114, built 1958 Met Camm and in preservation since 2002. It has been a stores vehicle for us since then but is now surplus to requirements. It received some limited restoration work in 2012 which included stripping back the roof and easing the doors to make them shut properly.

Condition is reasonable (despite a graffiti attack) and a full set of images taken last month can be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/brcw/sets/72157644055324269/

Some more facts about the vehicle:
    • Sits on BR1 bogies with good wheelsets/tyres.
    • Braking is partly dismantled (mainly the handbrake) although all the bits are with the vehicle as we acquired the missing parts in the past - so can be considered as complete
    • No other major bits missing except the buckeye on one end
    • Vehicle has no departmental modifications except for a row of mains lighting inside the saloons - so would be a good vehicle to restore as a "proper" BG
    • Was latterly duel heat and vac braked although non of these features have been used/tested in preservation.

Offers at or above £3,500 are invited by June 15th. Please make offers to christophermoxon8@hotmail.com or 07985436050 (although E-mail preferred). Viewings are available (with notice!) and recommended to avoid disappointment as are too many details to put in one E-mail - arrange viewings via the same contact details. Vehicle is located at the Churnet Valley Railway in Staffordshire.

Nope, not been a runner for quite some time and is currently in the cutting at the Wansford end of the tunnel. Interesting coach though, nice interior and of early monocoque construction, I believe it was once deemed important enough to be part of the science museum collection along with the now-departed Nord compound loco.
