Foxfield Autumn Steam Gala - 12th & 13th October - Jinty to visit!

Well, I can say I tried. The plan for the engine was to come and run throughout gala as itself then operate one charter as a Williamthorpe engine and one as a Peppers engine.

So, instead of the engine operating a second charter it will now be out on service trains on the 20th of October - maybe as a 5D Stoke engine...

Who knows. But, the response from the charter we are running has been extremely positive. We do have about five places left so make sure you contact Mr Creese if you would like to come.

Who knows, most people probably hated Pepper's for painting steam engine orange...

Also, if there are any free loaders reading this, yet again we will be taking a no tolerance stance on non-ticket payers whether you are riding or not. The theatre opens on Saturday at 9am and closes after the last train if you are found without a wrist band you will be asked to buy a ticket or will be removed from site.

Our ticket offices will also stand no abuse which has had to be tolerated in the past and so if anyone goes down this line (excuse the pun) then they will not be allowed on site.

I am probably talking to people who sympathise with us however we need to make it loud and clear that we don't take c**p.

Really sorry to hear the orange Jinty isn't happening

 

could be more of a timing issue, a week later may have been better.

 

Maybe, the charter season is at its busiest at the moment and so it always going to be difficult for the 'newbie' to get something off the ground. Nether the less we try and are in fact very trying! Just wait until next year too... We have something very nice lined up! But I can't tell you what it is though.

On another note, the gala will be first chance to see newly arrived 'Eustace Forth' at Foxfield Railway.

Any news on when the timetable will be available? Or when is the first passenger train as I have booked tickets to Blythe bridge and just wanted to know how long I have to take pics before the first departure of locos on shed

This will be my 3rd visit this year (I'm going on Saturday).
First, went to the Built by Bagnall Gala on 6th April.
Secondly, went to the Summer Steam Gala on 20th July.
Let's hope that this gala will be a great success. And let's hope the weather will be suitable enough to film the locos (esp. 47406) going up and down Foxfield Bank with their goods trains.

Today, Jinty 47406 had a successful test run to Foxfield Colliery and back. It managed 6 hoppers, 2 minerals and a van with no trouble and so we are satisfied with its performance.

Don't forget the charter with be taking place tomorrow at the Colliery. Places can be booked via Martin Creese.
