Patterns for O&K clacks

Hi All,
Does anyone know of it anyone in the UK has any patterns for parts for O&K clacks. Used on lots of the 2ft locos.

Have you tryed Statfold they have a number of O&Ks

 

You could also try the RPSI at Whitehead - they restored O&K No3 for the DCDR and are currently finishing O&K No1 - not sure what parts were missing or whether they would be compatible with NG locos, but it's worth giving them a shout as they have their own foundry and may be cheaper than commercial casting companies.

Also try the Leighton Buzzard Railway most of there locos are O&K so they must know where to get spares or replacements

I was going to say try the Leighton Buzzard Railway as they have the most O&K locos I know, but I see you are from that railway anyway, any one going to Java as they may have a few spare.

Failing that do you have any drawings?

I am involved in restoring a 1912 2ft gauge O&K, in fact we're nearly finished! We had two new clacks cast using the original valve as a pattern. This of course means they are both RHS, but to fit on the LHS of boiler it only needs a slightly longer pipe to the injector. Let me know if the original is usefull to you as a pattern (it is cracked which is why we didn't use it on the loco). I can send you a photo if that would be helpfull.

An update re clack valves - the originals are in fact single handed i.e. the same casting on both sides, so the feed pipe is longer on the LHS.

Our O&K 5744 1912 2ft 0-4-0 WT is now in service and running very well. Worth the 7 years restoration! We managed to keep in excess of 80% original parts including the boiler which needed very little work. Please get in touch if you need information on restoring a similar loco.

Have been trying to upload photos of the clack valves but "An error has occurred". Give me a steam loco over a PC any day!
