It was like a guessing game when they announced it on Facebook.

An excellent choice by the K&WVR.

1501 is a good choice indeed.

Looks like you did read it too! :)

Could anyone advise what is the latest on 34092 City of Wells, please? I was wondering whether it might be ready for the gala.

The KWVR Facebook page shows that the next two visitors for the gala are 4160 and 5029. Really great news, well done to all concerned for arranging such a brilliant lineup. Can't wait for the gala to start now. :)

    Beat me to it!
We can confirm that Large Prarie No. 4160 & Castle Class No. 5029 Nunney Castle are the last two visitors for the event.

These both join Pannier No. 1501 to give a real Great Western Taste to the Gala. Home locomotives of Nos. 90733, 43924, 1054, Nunlow & 45305 finish off the line up

Wow, Was expect one more but another two and complementing each other as well, along with a strong home fleet line up, well done everyone for pulling out all the stops this year. Is there still a chance we will have one more from the home fleet as well, or are we not counting our chickens yet, refering to the S160?

8 engines, are you sure that's enough?

    Questions

    1. Regarding timetabling, can the morning goods be hauled by different engines each day (or as a compromise, perhaps a different engine on Friday to Sat/Sun if the former is not possible)?
    2. Will there be an organised night shoot in the yard?
    3. Can the 5MT run without its nameplates (please). Again, if you do it only on the Friday as a compromise...

Excellent news, was on the list for the Autumn gala season, but now cast in stone.

Well done the gala team, looking forward to more details nearer the time :)

With this line up should run for a week, not just a weekend. Will they stay for longer I wonder.:)

The Worth Valley have once again organised what should be another excellent Steam Gala.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting 5029, but more the better.

Look forward to attending on the Saturday.

Looking a great event, I will have to see if I can be bothered to get up early after watching Wales play the night before to make the slog up north...

Any idea on the Feb/March Gala dates?

I wonder how 5029 will arrive at Keighley? I know Castles run from Tyseley to York quite often - could one get onto the Skipton line without clonking any platforms or bridges? I wonder if anyone is planning mainline tours with her while she's "up North"? Probably too early to say just yet...

4160 will be interesting. I can't remember a GWR prairie visiting before and it's the sort of line that they work well on.

5029 is a nice big engine draw too, and 1501 is a red line for me.

I'm going to have to turn work down for this...

We regret to inform that unfortunately 5029 Nunney Castle will not be attending our Steam Spectacular weekend, this is due to gauging problems on the KWVR. We are currently working very hard to source a replacement and will make further announcements soon.
