I am sure I have seen a picture of an Austerity in LNER livery and that it looked rather good. Does anyone know the locomotive and where it is based?

Also, can anyone tell me if any are currently running in BR livery?

Thanks Martin. Last mention of it was Jan 2007.

Looked very nice though. Am trying to track down any J94s in BR or LNER livery.

I can't think of any running in LNER livery , the one in the link being the only one that I know of that has done so

I also can't think of any running in BR . Peak Rail had one as did Strathspey (I think) both out of ticket

There are two genuine BR ones , Spa Valley , I think are overhauling one and the other maybe at Sellinge

Wikipedia lists eight in BR identity although not where they are

Would Red connecting rods have been the norm ?

J94s only had one livery - unlined black as they were sourced from industrial designs and therefore considered as freight locomotives; as far as the LNER purchases were concerned they were bought for heavy shunting duties and woiuld not be considered for anything other than unlined black.

IIRC all the motion between the frames would have been painted red. Or do you really mean 'coupling rods'? Ray.

I think I'm right in saying that some of them were given LNER lettering over their WD khaki paintwork.
