UKsteam suggests that either 48151 or 44932 will be used for this trip. Does anyone know whether either of them are fit now? If not, would 45407 deputise, as she did on The Mayflower last weekend?

I'm amused to see that Realtime Trains says "Timed for 95mph". I guess that's just the DL-hauled sections ;-)

The return says timed for 60mph, so it seems max speed listed is for whatever is hauling the train at the start.

It just so happens I'm going to a party in Chester on Sunday night and need to drop a friend off at the station at 12 o'clock, just enough time to find a spot :)

Isn't the 8F limited to 50 ? that would suggest the Black Five, but is far from an accurate indicator.

Reported elsewhere on the forum that the 8f is the rostered loco.

In response to several requests, I am now including links to Realtine Trains Info near the top of the uksteam.info Times pages, commencing with this train on 1st April - see for instance t0401a I hope this will be of use to some folks.

There is a lot of dry/dead/dormant undergrowth. In steam days I guess that kind of line-side matter would have been kept clear but alas Network Rail have no need or reason to resource its removal.

    Evening all,

My first posting of photos on here.

Here are four shots taken at the foot-crossing in Rhostyllen, one mile south of Wrexham. For some reason the train stopped just south of Wrexham... these photos were taken just after the re-start

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for this innovation David - still find your "outline" times (if I may call them that) useful. Handy moment to say "Thank you" for your efforts - must take a fair chunk of your time.
